“A small, but mighty, team of dedicated action-takers and changemakers”

TJ Holmes

Ranch Manager, Disappointment Valley Mustang Sanctuary

Since 2007, TJ has advocated for and documented the wild horses of Spring Creek Basin in Southwest Colorado. In 2011, her extensive experience led to employment with the Serengeti Foundation. TJ is our wild horse advocate and mustang whisperer extraordinaire!

Bert von Roemer

Bert’s love for animals – and dream of a future where they are all able to live freely – is what moved him to start the Serengeti Foundation in 1997. In addition to being an avid outdoorsman, father, philanthropist, and coffee trader, Bert and his family have rescued many animals and currently care for four dogs, four buffalo, four mustangs, two cats, and chickens. His ultimate goal is to see the world living together harmoniously with both animals and nature.

Robert Lawrence

Manager, Infrastructure and Operations

Robert has been with the Serengeti Foundation for six years and he manages the infrastructure and operations for all our projects. Having grown up on a Texas ranch, Robert has a long family history working with horses and livestock. Robert is also an animal lover and currently has four rescued dogs. He loves football, exploring rock walls and homesteads, and investigating the nature around him. Robert is constantly striving to learn more and is known to dive deep into research with each discovery he makes.
