MEET OUR TEAM

Bert von Roemer
FounderBert’s love for animals – and dream of a future where they are all able to live freely – is what moved him to start the Serengeti Foundation in 1997. In addition to being an avid outdoorsman, father, philanthropist, and coffee trader, Bert and his family have rescued many animals and currently care for four dogs, four buffalo, four mustangs, two cats, and chickens. His ultimate goal is to see the world living together harmoniously with both animals and nature.
