The Serengeti was once the land of the Maasai people: semi-nomadic warriors with deep-rooted customs, intertwined with nature and living alongside wild animals in vast ecosystems.
The Serengeti Foundation lives up to its name.
Facilitating projects around the globe that are dedicated to standing beside animals, preserving and restoring natural habitats, and connecting humans to nature, we, too, are humble warriors. With over 20 years experience, the Serengeti Foundation creates and supports initiatives that truly impact the protection, freedom, and sanctuary of animals, habitats and humans.
Inspired by the beauty, fragility, and culture of the Masaai people and the prodigious landscape, the Serengeti Foundation was founded in 1997 by Bert von Roemer and his wife Christine.
